Walking under the blazing sun. |
Morning has come! It’s time to move around
and I’ve got the perfect recommendation for that morning walk.
Feel the cool morning breeze as you take
a brisk walk or as you jog going to a gem, not hidden but is far from the noise
of modernity. It is not a resort but a community activity area by the beach. Welcome
to Xavier Eco-Village, a resort-like project of Barangay San Francisco in
Malilipot, Albay.
Don’t go too far ahead, you still
have to enjoy that morning walk as you witness the bright rays of sun touch the
tip of the ever beautiful Mayon Volcano. If you stop for a while, you will feel
astonishingly relieved by the ambiance that gives of that early Philippine-vibe.
The one when there were more farmers than office workers.

Peace, Quiet and Beauty |
Alright, let’s head on. Walk on,
morning person, just up ahead is a sight of something clear and sparkling.
That’s right, it’s the sea, but which coast does it belong to? No need to
argue, the pristine waters is shared by Malilipoteños. It looks closer than how far it actually
is, but that’s a motivation right?
Can you hear
that sound? The moos and mees of cows, carabaos and goats are heard at a
distance. Then there must be a hut. Such a humble home, fit for a quiet
environment. The people who live there are as quiet as the night because they’ve
come from a distant land. Some of them are from Masbate. There relocation has
no clear reason but rest assured, there hospitality and kindness have no
ulterior motives, it’s just how they are, like true Filipinos.
You’ve gone
deep in that thought, you did not realize that you’re walking on facades of
well-organized shrubs. You’ve reached the huts of the Franciscans! See how it
looks more like a village than a seaside resort?
This time, you
will hear the barks of dogs. Someone’s taking care of these trusty guards. You
don’t him, he’s not very approachable, but he does a good job of checking the
area so you smile at him, took a turn and went straight to the partially built
seawall that now covers the village from the threats of the sea. You feel sad,
but what about the view?
|
Some great wall in San Francisco |
Shrug it off, you’re
going to stay fit, you run lapses on the wide road atop the wall. You can see a
lot of things from where you’re running. The sound of the water hitting the
wall satisfies you. The mountainous distance appeases you, thank God we aren’t
completely modernized. The village on the other side is so quiet, but the
seashore on the other side accommodates happy locals, splashing and floating on
the water.
Look back. Do
you see the vast field you traversed before reaching Xavier Eco-Village? You do
realize that you’ve already come a long way, yet you were still tricked into
running in this wide space that looks like the best playground.
|
Peaceful Seclusion |
Okay, take a
break. Sit on the elevated portion of the wall. Be careful, you might fall.
Enjoy the even cooler breeze as the sun starts to make its presence felt.
You’d have to
go home soon, but might not want to. You have to, morning person. You can just
comeback in the afternoon to witness the sunset as you cool off from the heat.
